WHAT IS EXECUTIVE COACHING?
Coaching is a collaborative partnership between a coach and a willing individual, which connects at the deep personal level of beliefs, values and vision. It enables, through a process of discovery, goal setting and specific action. It allows for the realization of extraordinary results. It is based in a body of knowledge, technology and a style of relating that focus on the development of human capacity.
“Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The following are some of the key distinctions that I work with in coaching an individual or team. Sometimes I work with the individual and they then work with their team. Other times I work with the entire staff together depending on what area we are out to empower. My signature presence, “Heartfelt coaching with an edge” speaks to coaching that is carried out in a caring way, with accountability. I have worked as a coach both internally and externally to organizations, as well as having an education and leadership background, because of this, you get proven coaching techniques that help people overcome their struggles and achieve success.
I believe coaching enhances the quality of life for both the individual being coached and the coach, and that it enables people to operate at their full capacity with joy and ease. It also assists people in being clear about their legacy. Coaching is not about advising but rather treating each person as a whole individual, capable of making their own decisions and creating the life they want, with results they are proud of. Coaching provides leaders with the opportunity to strengthen specific interpersonal, communication, leadership or managerial skills.
Coaching is a tool to move people forward in their lives and their professions. It helps people get unstuck! Create the life that allows you to envision your greatest potential and attain your highest goals!
“Coaching is a partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” (International Coaching Federation Definition)
WHAT COACHING ISN’T!
Coaching is not remedial, but rather it is available for your own personal growth and development as professionals and leaders.
Coaching is not:
Consulting – providing professional advice from expertise;
Mentoring – providing the benefit of their vast years of experience or;
Counselling – providing psychological expertise.
